You should try the Phon Coast with your main party, to level them up...the loot is excellent there (especially feathers from the birds and those funky bird-like creatures with legs) and the horns from the huge frogs. If you make one complete circle around the coast you usually rack up about 20-30 bundles of feathers, which sell for about 800 gil each.
Coerl Pelts sell well too, if you want to go to Tchita Uplands and kill them...

Phon Coast level 30-35. In the 20s try Ozmone Plains for some decent money and exp. Zertinan Caverns or Tchita Uplands is good in the upper 30s to low 40s.

yea chad, thats where i already was lvling at ^^
Got my characters up to lvl 26 last night in Ozmone as well making about 200k gil in loot. though i blew my first 100k on the Bazaar, on those items that make enemies drop loot more often. i need the last one which involves me selling some rare things to get it to open up. Right now im sitting at like 70k. I'm going to make atleast one more run like that, for exp and because thats the best farming results ive gotten so far (Chaining only Mesminirs, Iron Carapaces, Destier Mane, Bronze Maces, and Storm magacite being the real sellable loot here, specifically the Carapaces, 448 gil for a single one, get the Chain to rank3 and you will see drops of up to 4 Carapaces from one Mesminir ^^)

Yeah, Ozmone was really good to me as far as leveling. Heck, I might even go back there and level up some of my underleveled characters when I have some extra time (Vaan and Balthier are in their mid-20s...Fran is 30).

I crossed the 60-hour of gameplay mark yesterday. I also finished up the events in Giruvagan(sp?). Time to go after some more marks and espers (my main party is all nearly level 70 now).

I want to try and keep all 6 at about the same lvl range, in case of emergencies. Nothing worse than the boss having like 500 hp left.. but one hits all three left over characters because they underlvled and under equiped.
I have a new formula to make the fights fast.
Start the fights with the weaker party.. have them make a Quickening Chain. Then as soon as all three are dead. switch them out for the stronger three. Quickening Chain. If fight is not over, it will be well on its way to being over.

Just a heads up, quickening chains seem to get worse the higher level you get. I fought the Goliath mark today in the Nechrol of Nabudis...that was a HARD fight. I tried a quickening chain to get rid of the adds that I managed to get with him, got a concurrance and everything, and it killed 2 adds and didn't do more than 5k HP damage to the mark. It was an 8x chain too. Same thing happened to me fighting Exodus today (beat him first time, btw) and another mark in the Deadlands of Nabudis. Its like they were awesome in the lower levels, but now I'm much better off keeping my MP, because if I have full MP even in a very difficult fight, I will not die unless the boss can one-shot me or he has too many adds to keep up with (stupid esper in the Stillshrine of Merriam kicked my butt today...just couldn't keep up with his adds). Anyway, I had the most awesome trip into the Deadlands and down into the Nechrol of Nabudis. That place is scarrrryyy. Didn't plan to fight the two marks, but they were both kind of in the way - Robolin and Goliath. I got my Zodiak Spear too. I put it on Ashe and it nearly trippled her attack power. Her damage output went from about 2000 with the Defender greatsword she was using to nearly 6000 HP damage per swing with the Zodiak Spear. I'm planning on going on a leveling spree in the Deadlands tomorrow.

Spoilers ahead xP
Chadwick! Tell me, what is the final dungoen in this game? I went up to the fortress Bahamut not thinkin' anything end gamey would happen, but near the end I was fightin' a mob that looked a heck of a lot like a final boss T_T (and he kicked my lvl 57 rear end...I hate it when they suddenly become immune to physical attacks.)
End of Spoilers...
I want pickles!

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
The Bahamut Fortress is indeed the last area of the game. There are no save crystals there (as you might have noticed). The idea is to avoid fights until you get onto the lift so you save your full strength for the four boss fights ahead.
First you'll fight Gabranth again, then Vayne twice and then the final boss. And the cut scenes during this whole thing are AWESOME.
I did everything from going to Pharos up to the final boss tonight, although I kept a save after Pharos at Balfonheim Port so I could go back and finish up some hunts and stuff again.
All my characters were almost nearly level 80 and the final boss still gave me some major problems, there were times when I thought I was going to die and have to go through all that again. But, I did prevail. And the final FMVs and cut scenes of the game are really, really cool.
I'd seriously recommend one of two things for the final boss...either level up to about 65-70 so you have the HP for at least one or two of your characters to withstand his major attacks or have everyone wear Bubble Belts to double their HP...then you could probably stand a good chance now.
Note that there is no health bar for the final boss, but it seems he became immune to magick and physical attacks at about 75% health and 50% health, or around there. Then he finally becomes immune to all damage and does a massive attacks that nearly wiped out my characters. This is the main attack you have to prepare for and MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE you have Ally: Any > Phoenix Down (not Raise or Araise, takes too long to cast) in the top slot for EVERY character's gambits and MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE you have Curaja (the massive area of effect heal) in the second gambit slot of at least two characters. He uses no status effect attacks, just majore damage attacks that affect multiple characters at once, if you use just single target heals you won't be able to keep up.
Also, if you have any Elixirs or Megalixirs, now's the time to use them 'cause most likely your main and back up healer will run low on MP near the end.
The funny thing is...NONE of this was in the strategy guide...so as you can imagine, I had a pretty fun time of this, and my characters were near level 80. >_> But yeah, he's a seriously tough fight.

Heh, now I don't feel so bad Had to get him close to 50% I guess. My problem is only one of my characters has really powerful attack magic ><' Anywho, I had no idea I was headin' into the final dungeon when I left for it lol So now I'ma hand back and lvl/do marks/get espers/side quests and such If I dun hurry however, Mal will beat me down xD She wants to play it.

Well, I was using Ashe and Penelo, the two with the highest magick attack in the game, so I had a pretty easy time just constantly casting Blizzaga on him, took off about 4000HP each cast (partially the reason I had to use a Megalixir during the fight to restore MP). Btw, the stats of the characters aren't all that different, but the most well rounded character is Ashe, followed by Vaan. Um...I'm going back now to level up my other three characters and do hunts and stuff. I'm attempting to step the other three a bit out of their "roles". I'm making fran a heavy-hitter, Balthier a caster and Vaan a damage/support character like Ashe.

Dang, do all your characters really needa be lvl 99?

No...but a lot of people who have beaten Ultima Weapon, Yiazmat and even some of the high-end marks that aren't level 99 swear that it makes the fights as easy as its going to get.
In about 3 hours I got my less used characters from level 20-ish to nearly level 50...lol.
