Notice the "=P"? I was kidding.
And woah comparing one whole song! And one from their cr*p R&B days no less! Go you!
Then, I'm not a musician, but you are? Dude, you don't even know me. And now I don't have respect for metal? You know what? *I* *CAN* stand metal. Heck, I even actually like a few tracks! Stop being the mind police, will you? I said the same amount of disrespectful things about metal as you said about the beatles, yet you have respect for them and I don't have respect for metal artists? You really oughta stfu.
Besides, last time I checked prog rock was the rock for musicians to be closely analysed instead of just listened to. Yet when I go to any random festival, what do I see? Right, a bunch of cavemen metalheads bashing eachothers faces in! Yeah they must be really intelligent and concerned about global warming because the unintelligable lyrics they listen to say so! It's the same as the punx with their anarchistic beliefs, place them in an actual anarchy and they'd be the first to die. Besides, as if no one's aware about the global warming. Everyone knows it's there. What do they expect? That everyone just stops going to their job in the factory because they said so in a song?
Phill Collins wrote a song about the homeless, does that make him any better? No it does not, it makes him a nasty old pretentuous millionaire using other people's unfortunate situation to cash in. Now I'm not saying those lyrics are using global warming to make money. I'm saying it doesn't matter what lyrics are about, aslong as they're deep and bring up feelings.
So what if metal is technical? Why are you so obsessed with "skill"? Last time I checked music was about identity and feelings, no matter how simple the tune. Now in jazz there's a lack of rules and boundaries, it's because of that that it's technical. But it's because jazz should be improvised that it has great feeling, and that's what got it it's good name. Technique comes 2nd. Period. And to carry on with your empty accusations: every "real musician" knows that. From my experience, only beginning musicians care/brag/lie about their skill, for the rest it's just about making music, no matter what it is, as long as it feels good. Sure, showing off is nice and it's currently deffinitely helping the peppers sell more to the masses, but it's just not what it's about.
You have a major superiority complex you know? It's even bigger than that of my own. You have no right to feel better than me, you know nothing about me. And it's the exact same with the beatles.
I know it's vice versa aswell, but I at least know you're making a complete *ss out of yourself.
And so am I for still replying in this thread, but hey, it keeps me entertained.
