Dont wanna beat AV Yosh? >.> "Kill all Jailers (Sea gods)", lets just say AV is Kirin of Sea. we are gonna work on that but spawning Jailers is alot harder then Sky gods, becuase they dont always drop an item needed to spawn jailers of the next tier. kinda hard to explain ; ;

Alright people. I can understand and respect your opinions, but some things just plain are not true. Unless you have played WoW to the level cap and participated in at least some end-game content, then you have no basis to talk about anything that you've just said above. (Understood )Yea I could see why he'd want to come back from WoW finish max leveling in 2 - 3 weeks...finish doing everything in the next month or two... Not much content and too many young jerks playing to make the game any fun. I've had a friend leave WoW and he went back to play it before his last month was up and he told me "Never again. I'd rather sit and wait for a party for an hour or more on FFXI then ever play WoW again." I have nothing against you, I don't even know you, and my comments above were meant for nothing other than to give my guild's experience with "open recruitment" type inviting schemes. Like I said, its one thing to state your opinion on a game, that's fine and I respect that. Its another to say something that is completely not true. Right after the latest FFXI expansion came out, I was back playing for a couple weeks. As you all know, a few new jobs were introduced. You know how long it took some obsessed players to reach high levels with that new job? Less than two weeks people were in their 60s and not long after that, they were 70+. So, yes, you can level to 60 in two to three weeks in WoW, but you can also level to the cap in two to three weeks in FFXI too, so that "claim" is shot down. Any game you have obsessed players who have no life other than to just level up in WoW or in FFXI or in any other MMORPG on the market. I assure you, this IS NOT the norm. The average level time in WoW is about two to three months for the casual player, which makes up the vast majority of WoW's player base. I'm a rather heavy WoW player and it took me six months to level up my first level 60 and another six months to level up another one. Also, it is completely not true that you can do "everything else in a month or two" after you reach level 60. It took my guild a month or two to learn just one end-game raid dungeon out of seven. That's not to mention the other six end-game raid dungeons, six world raid bosses, legendary weapon quests, and the list goes on and on. I've been playing WoW for nearly a year and a half, I have two level 60 characters, many more in the mid-levels and I still haven't done and seen everything there is to see, and there's an expansion coming out before the end of the year that is going to tripple the available content. Whoever tells you that everything can be done "in a month or two" after hitting level 60 is lying through their tooth. I find much the same thing in WoW as I did in FFXI - there are jerks, and there are nice people. Its EXACTLY THE SAME IN EVERY MMORPG. The only difference is that FFXI has a 500,000 person player base and WoW has a 7,000,000 person player base, so naturally the amounts of the good and bad players are larger in WoW so they stand out more, although the ratio is probably the same in both games. If I had listened to just one person's experiences with these games, I never would have played FFXI for more than a month, this is why I try to do as much as I can in a game before I decide I don't like it. And, yes, I have room to talk where FFXI is concerned, because I leveled to 75 and got involved in some end-game content, which is way more than you guys ever did with WoW, and you're bashing it because of ignorance. I'd take your "claims" a lot more seriously if you actually played the game instead of just tinkering around in it and automatically believing all your friends who haven't leveled past 20. This is like someone leveling up to level 10 in FFXI and saying the entire game sucks and telling everyone he knows never to play it 'cause it sucks. Wouldn't you guys have issue with that? Level 10 in FFXI is nothing, just like level 20 in WoW. Just like TV or the newspaper, do you believe everything you see/read? You'd be a fool if you did. Do you believe everything you hear in regards to WoW? You'd be a fool if you blindly believe it without backing it up by personal research and experience. One last note, I did not start this WoW vs. FFXI debate, all I did was give some advice as to how our "open recruitment" campaign went and I even wished you guys good luck. But, now you opened the flood gates so you're going to hear it from me.

I didn't care to make it a debate/competition/pissing contest I'm allowed to state my opinion from my personal experience and I don't like WoW because the players I meet were mostly unfriendly to newbs (kenji says "and non WoW players") and would rather rank up off your corpse repeatably (I know this has changed somewhat with an update) then try and help you progress so you can compete too. I know there are players of both types in each game as in any mmorpg, but sadly there is a LARGE # in WoW from my experience, it's not fun to be constantly killed and then deciede to recreate on another server with no pvp. I don't have that kind of time, I've had my FFXI account for over a year and I"m just reaching the 30s now. Besides I prefer to pay for FFXI cause i'm a very money stingy person when it comes to games. Not to mention, just don't like the look of WoW, kinddy like a demented looney toons cartoon. (YES I DID PLAY WCIII and it looks the same but better ) Remember I don't want to flame anyone or cause a fight, these are my opintions from my experiences and I just like to state them cause I'm allowed as a free woman. I'm not saying WoW sucks, obviously someone thinks it rocks from there large player turn out, it's just not for me personally, too many down sides from my view of the fence.

x.x I move to make subjects that are basically "WoW> FFXI ZOMG" or "FFXI>WoW ZOMG!111!eleven!!!!1!" against EoT rules. x.x Why would we need to do that? We know FFXI > Wow Why argue about it? Tho really, it's not that big of a deal. Thread de-rails always suck, so many we can get back on topic tho The campaign officially ends in 2 days. So after that I'ma take back all the link sacks 'cept for the real link sack holders Tho this doesn't mean that we can't invite more people, just that you'll have to drag one of the link sack holders off to do it

Thats it... Im getting out my Leader Stick...
The real problem is someone Always blows it out of proportion... TARU.
From here on out i deem no arguing over WoW or FFXI... BECAUSE we have both WoW and FFXI members that frequent this board(ie Chad, Liz, and a few others that probably dont post cause they dont wanna get screamed at for bringing up WoW).
Chad, You are right to compare. you have the right to mention it, and please do. From it we can take ideas that come from your brain and use them to tweak what needs to be done. But, Please stop pushing your point also. Yes we know you play WoW, Yes we know your guild is freakin awesome and clear all the end game dungeons in record time. Good For them. They are a well established guild bursting at the seems what seems to be good people. Remember still though.. this IS a FFXI forums. Yes we know that traveling in WoW is easier and faster, Yadda Yadda Yadda.. If someone fires back about WoW and FFXI trying to start an arguement, Please hold your tongue... Arguing back only fuels the fire.. I hate to say it becuase your older then me.. but as the saying goes. Act your Age
Taru, your right to be annoyed that the arguements continue. But please.. Stop instigating them. God you remind me of myself was i was younger. I was headstrong and jumped on people for the smallest thing. Which is what you do to chad every time he mentions WoW. Get over it Taru, Its the game he plays hes allowed to mention it.
/em waves his stick threatening.
NOW PLAY NICE!
This thread has been MASSIVELY Derailed because someone wanted to argue.
HERES what i want to know and see in THIS thread.
How is recruitment going? I was on a couple nights ago and indeed noticed quiet a few new faces. That made me happy ^^, they were quiet yes.. but easily joined into the conversations that i had going in moments. I liked all of them immensely.
Chad, You should know by now that Dispite the fact we are in "open recruitment" doesn't mean we are just walking down the street of Jeuno or Aht Urgan handing out Pearls. You know we only invite a certain kind of person even under such conditions. Being selective was built into the Members of this LS by some act. We're just good like that ^^
Though we do have our trouble spots . . .
I'll Leave that where it is.
Btw.. Can we perhaps get a number count of the new members? and if another member joins we should announce their name in this or the New Member Forums. Something to get the boards lively and to get the newer people to come to the forums.
(Chad, Taru.. if you want to talk about anything i mentioned above.. please send me a PM and keep it away from this topic.. Thanks)

Goero: I don't start topics about WoW anymore unless they're in the appropriate forums (like my screenshot threads), but I will mention my WoW experience when it comes to things like this thread, because its basically the same. LS recruiting in FFXI, guild recruiting in WoW = same freaking thing. That's why I brought that up originally in this thread and I did not start this, I just replied to misconceptions about WoW which anyone in their right mind would do. Believe it or not, I do it on the official WoW boards and our guild forums when misconceptions about FFXI come up, as well, because I still think that is a good game. Jem: Opinions are fine, but stating misconceptions as facts is not. Nor is basing almost your entire argument on the experiences of one or a few people. That's like saying such-and-such TV show is the #1 show on TV because one person says so! Or such-and-such movie sucks big time because five people said so! Its fine that you don't like PVP servers, I don't either. But if you roll on a PVP server you need to know what you're getting into. Ganking IS LEGAL and WILL HAPPEN. That's the whole freaking point of a PVP server and it appeals to a certain type of person. There's nothing wrong with that and your argument holds almost no weight because of the four different server rulesets you have to choose from, two of which are non-PVP rulesets. So, you really have no room to complain because you rolled on a PVP server and are getting ganked. If you don't like that type of gameplay, you should roll on a PVE server. Play many PVP-heavy MMORPGs in the past? That's the whole point of PVP to many people and is legal activity in just about any game (although there's most likely always consequences to killing someone much lower level than yourself just for fun). Just like you can't base a whole game/TV show/movie on the opinions of a few, you can't base all of WoW on what is allowed to happen on a PVP server. Again, if you roll on a PVP server, you should expect some actual PVP - ganking, corpse camping, quest distruption, etc. - that's what's going to happen and is part of the game under those server rulesets. That's why I rolled on a PVE server. Like I always say - THERE IS NO BAD GAME. There's only bad OPINIONS of game. Instead of saying, "This game sucks because of this, that and the other thing that's stupid" you need to say, "I didn't like this about the game, or this, or that." And, back up your statements by your own personal experience, not the experience of what other say, or what just a few people say. I assure you, a few people do not speak for all. So feel free to state opinions, but expect to be called out when you state something that's not true as fact. And Rovec, Goero and anyone else who remembers - Celestra and Cyna say hi. I gave Cyna the link to this site when she asked me a couple weeks ago, but doesn't look like she's dropped by yet. If you're wondering, Cyna is our guild's druid class officer (her character name is Navigurl) and Celestra is one of our core raiding priests (her character name is Celey).
