Have you guys SEEN this show?! Its one of the best things to hit television in years.
The concept, if you live under a rock and haven't heard about it, is that ordinary people discover they have "super powers". While some of these are the typical "I can fly!" type things, others are way out of the ordinary.
There's a painter from New York who can paint/draw the future, a woman from Nevada who has an evil alter-ego to control, a Japanese office worker that can bend time and space and a nurse from Manhattan that can mimic other people's powers when he's around them...just to mention a few.
The whole premise of the show is that all these people are ordinary, yet discover that their powers can change the world...especially an explosion that was painted and seen that happens in New York City. The whole series so far, all 12 episodes, revolve primarily around figuring out a way to stop this explosion, but have about a dozen different sub-plots going at once.
There's also a genetisist from India who is picking up where his father left off studying these genes that give people these powers and he's trying to figure out how it all fits together.
Naturally, there's also people out to stop them, as well and you don't always know who you can trust.
The majority of the actors/actresses on the show are relatively unknown, but they all do an awesome job and make you really care about each character and what happens to them. Its a very character driven show, with obvious sci-fi undertones.
Right now you can watch all 12 episodes online at NBC's web site, that's how I started watching it. Now we're hooked and we're recording it every week. It definately beats most things on television these days, in that its message and moral actually mean something.
