Yeah, so we made astonishing progress in Blackwing Lair this week. Last week we were stuck at the 2nd boss in, last night we made it to Nefarian, the final boss (didn't beat him though, that's going to take some trial and error).
We cleared the three drakes - Firemaw, Ebonroc and Flamegor - for the first time this week, as well as Chromaggus, the 2nd to last boss in BWL. I also got some sweet gear! ;D
Here's some pics...
Group pic after we downed Firemaw.
Group pic after we downed Ebonroc. After him came Flamegor, which I didn't get a picture of, but all three of the drakes (dragons) look the same, they just have slightly different abilities, and they're each easier than the one in front of them.
When we pull Chromaggus, I use my pet to safely pull from a distance down to where we'll be fighting him. I really would like to describe the whole fight to you, but its incredibly complex and changes with every instance reset (so every week). We downed Chromaggus for the first time last night, after only raiding BWL for less than two months. There's still guilds on our server who either haven't downed him or just recently downed him after working on BWL for nearly a year. That's how well we're progressing. Its widely considered as the 2nd toughest fight in BWL (behind Vael, which is the 2nd boss).
Guild pic after we downed him last night. He dropped this sweet crossbow that I won that's the 2nd most powerful ranged weapon in the game at the moment...
Yeah, pretty sweet. I was getting some insane crits on this thing tonight when we raided Zul'Gurub after BWL.
So, after Chromaggus, you face Nefarian, the final boss of BWL. Learning this encounter is rather difficult, but once you learn it, its easy to execute. We tried it four times tonight and wiped each time...but that's all part of the learning process. When you enter his throne room, he's "friendly" and sitting on his throne, as you see in this pic. You talk to him to start the encounter, which is also a very complex fight and changes slightly (not as much as the Chromaggus encounter) with each instance reset. Once we clear him and get BWL on "farm" status, we can officially move on to the hardest raid instance pre-expansion - Naxxoraamus.
Here's a random pic of my little warlock who is now level 60 - my 2nd level 60 character (that's max level, and he's level 59 in this pic, but I dinged 60 today). I was having fun with my Infernal in Ironforge.
