A nice view while farming Icecap (an herb) in Winterspring. Turning in and quest and accepting another from Duke Hydraxis in Azshara. After we downed Sulfuron Harbinger for the first time in MC tonight. Fighting Golemagg for the first time tonight, we brought him down the very first time we fought him too. A shot of me in an area of the Ruins of Ahn'Quiraj that we had cleared already. A full interface shot of us getting ready to pull a couple mobs in AQ. There's 2 AQ instances, a 20-man and a 40-man, we were in the 20-man instance trying to down the first boss (which, unfortunately, I didn't get a screenie of), and we were successful.

Ok ive asked my friend this a couple times (but still no answer) how do you get to AQ? is it just instances? or is there an area that isnt an instance? It looks pretty cool, i was watching this video on G4tv where there was this huge raid fighting a bunch of giants that looked like they were from ancient egypt.
also, one of the times i was doing a mara run, i was talking to a guy and he was telling me about the test servers. he said that you could make 4 60's on a server and play them, but when i went to WoW's website all i could do is copy my existing characters. Is there something i didnt see or was this guy just lying?

First off, AQ referrs to the ruins at the far south of Silithus. When you enter the non-instanced part of the ruins, there isn't much there. No mobs, no nothing. You'll see two green instance portals - one on the right and one on the left. The left one is to the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj - the 20-man instance. The right one is to the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj - the 40-man instance. So, when you hear people refer to AQ20 and AQ40, that's what they're talking about. No attunement or anything is necessary to enter those instances. AQ20 is actually easier than Zul'Gurub... Anyway, the huge Egyptian-like mobs you saw raids fighting were probably the most difficult of the three types of summoned mobs. I can't remember their names... But, you get this Twilight Cultist gear, which drops from the humanoid mobs in Silithus. If you equip the three pieces of gear and "talk" to one of the Lesser Windstones around the Twilight camps, you can summon a level 60 elite elemental templar. These are pretty easy, I've soloed one before, but its good to have a healer there too. When you kill these, they drop one Abyssal Crest. Get three of these, and turn them in for this repeatable quest in Cenarion Hold. For three of them, the NPC will give you a Twilight Cultist Medalion. Now, equip this, in addition to the three pieces of Twilight Cultist gear and "talk" to a normal Windstone. This will summon a Duke, which is usually a medium-sized hydra/dragon type mob that requires at least a full party to take down. Killing it will net you one Abyssal Ring. Take three of these rings to an NPC in Cenarion Hold and they'll give you one final item (can't remember the name). Equip this with a Medallion and the three pieces of Twilight Cultist gear, "talk" to a Greater Windstone, and the big, bad outdoor raid boss will be summoned, which is probably what you saw. This requires a 20+ man raid to bring down and usually drops epic gear. I've fought plenty of Templars and Dukes. We're collecting a lot of the final items needed to summon the raid bosses. Note that the gear, medallions, crests and rings - all these items - are not soulbound, so you can buy them on the AH too, if you prefer. The final item needed to summon the raid boss usually goes for about 100g on my server. But, you don't get any rep that way. So, we're going through killing everything like we should. Also, yes, you can create pre-made level 60 characters on the test server and you can transfer your existing characters over to play with them. The problem is, Blizzard likes disabling either of those (or both sometimes) randomly without telling anyone. The first week that the test server was up, you could only make pre-made level 60s, the second week that was disabled and you could only transfer your pre-existing characters. There really is no rhyme or reason to how they do it...you just have to get lucky I guess.
