GO ahead and vote for your favorite. Mine is most definetly the PS3. While I don't like the high price point, it's IMO the only Next Gen console worth mentioning. The 360 is bassicly an upgrade to the xbox, and I dont think a remote control is next generation. The amount of space a blue ray disc can hold and the power of a PS3's procceser truly is next gen, and i cant wait to see what developers can do with it. Of course, I'll have to wait 2-5 yeas to afford one :/

While I'll probably get a PS3, I'm really interested in the Wii and it's controller. Sure there are some flaws right now but it looks really fun to be more physically involved with the games.

I vote for the Ps3 even though I think they could have waited a bit for blue ray, this console will probably end dominating the market yet again in the next 2 years, menaing we'll be aware of the fact in approx. 2 years or so.
The Wii is ok, it's an improvement and a good idea, but it's not 'next gen', my spouse wants a wii pretty badly but I'm not in a big hurry, I'm more then likely going to break something by either whipping the remote around too fast or tumbling over some toy my daughter left and breaking a leg.... So yeah..
lol360, kidding! Sorta ^.<

PS3 all the way. Pricy, yes. But it does justify the price in just the BlueRay hardware alone. And, if you're an RPG fan, you shouldn't own anything other than Sony's systems.

I didnt own a PS until after the PS2 came out XD. Before I got a PS2 I was a loyal nintendo fan boy, I even made the mistake of getting the gamecube frst because of its lower price point XD. ~foreshadowing~
Edit: You mentioned gears of war. I havent played it yet but from what I read it seems like it could be another Killzone *shudders*. Have you played it yet Taru?

Explain to me what you feel Sony "messed up" on? Yah, the only difference I see between xbox and Ps3 is that xbox came out first and won't be able to put out quite the same quality of games in graphics, not that it matters since they will probably push out another console when that happens. You have to remember that expensive things on release are usually ahead of their true time. Remember the prices of the home computers? How about the dvd player? I was in my teens for the dvd revolution and knew lots of people who couldn't afford one and thought the whole thing overrated. Nowadays if you own a vhs you're pretty much laughed at.

I'ma have to go with the Wii this time. While fancy new tech is always awesome, thinking outside the box is what's really gonna bring in the money. X-box offers nothin' new in my eyes 'cept for amped up Graphics. PS3 is awesome just cause I know SE is gonna produce most of their games for it (granted, all the Blue ray stuff is great, but not excited about it now...), but the Wii is truely somethin' new. The idea of physically being a part of the game with motion sensors is incredible. I can't wait to get a taste of it ^^

What's funny is this has absolutely nothing to do with the PS3 and what they "messed up" on. The only thing they "messed up" on about the PSP is their lame marketing and crappy game distribution, but its starting to get better. They weren't planning to beat Nintendo anyway... The link is pure opinion (although I agree with the Root Kit issues), few solid facts, from what I can see. And the reason their gaming division is losing so much money isn't because of any one piece of hardware, its because gaming companies usually lose A LOT of money in the first two to three years of a console's release and make it all up at the mid-way and late life time of the product on games a lone, not hardware sales. Sony, having released two systems in two years is taking an extra heavy hit to the pocketbook, especially since they don't have the following Nintendo has for their handheld from the get-go.

That's what happens when you are HUGE, yeah Sony hates you, Microsoft hates you blah blah blah... Running HUGE companies is a HUGE undertaking, you've got all kinds of bright people working for you, and all kinds of bright people doing stupid things once in a while that has HUGE repercussions simply because it's a HUGE company, with expectations and deadlines, and rows and mountains of consumers and fans who will rip you apart if you don't deliver...
Sorry for the rant but I've worked for 'the man', and quite frankly I wouldn't want to be in 'the man's' place ^^;; It's one heck of a job, and most of your thanks comes with other's contempt and constant criticism and lines like these: "Well were I the man, I'd do it bettter!"......
PSP being able to play movies is actually cool, you can take your mini discs with you on long trips, or if you have a job that requires you to wait a lot on transportation or people. The Ps3 isn't nintendo because they have a different market, sony's prime market is ageing and needs more sophisticated systems that we are still familiar with.

first off, the link was to something that was mostly opinion, because that's all he has on his sit, however, he does bring up some interesting points. and to Chad: yes, I know companies usually lose money the first few years after their release but Sony is in actual danger right now, the Wii and 360 are vastly outselling the PS3 for various reasons including the ungodly price tag, the limited availability (a really dumb mistake in my opinion) and the lack of any real stand out games

...Sony is in actual danger right now, the Wii and 360 are vastly outselling the PS3 for various reasons including the ungodly price tag, the limited availability (a really dumb mistake in my opinion) and the lack of any real stand out games I've got to agree with all three of those points, yet the one that's affecting them the most right now is the limited avialibility. It's christmas and people want the PS3. If they had enough, people would buy them. What they need to do is release some games that can truly only be achieved on the PS3. And release them for several different genres. Want to sell more PS3's? Make some exclusive games. (look at the xbox and halo.) Of course, to my knowledge no great exclusive title has ever been made by anyone other then third party developers. (SE, Bungie, Capcom, etc.) Also I beleive they should focus on online multiplayer. Listn up Koei, want to save the dynasty warriors series? How about 16 on 16 (player controlled characters) online battles in it being able to show all 32 players on screen at once, with at least 100 npcs on screen as well. Battlefields 2-3 times the size of before, with each player having 1000 soldiers under his command. And by command I mean extensive command system, not just the words attack, defend, rally, and gaurd mapped to the D-pad.With an extensive (and dear god, extensive means at least 75 different combat styles (and by different, i mean radicly different) with nearly endless image editing capibility.)character creation mode, I'd hit that. Sound impossible to you? Sounds next-gen to me.

>.> <.< i loved the link Prophet ^^
only cause Maddox = The uberest at ranting about stupid stuff ^^
For those who DONT know who maddox is.. thats what he does.. he takes something silly or stupid and sometimes serious and trashes it, finds whatever dirt he can and blows it out of proportion. as you can see, he only looked at about 3 or 4 cases. failing to mention the other good things that DO come out of Sony.
When reading his crap, gotta take it with a grain of salt..
