I managed to get into a Dynamis LS last night and (after some very rushed Travel) I made it to a Dynamis-Sandy run they were pulling off ;D Just a farming run for items however, they weren't going in for a win. It's still a pretty new LS I think. Anywho, it was a learning exp if anything lol But I didn't get anything. We got alot of O bronze pieces and two Relic Weapons (the Great Axe and the Lance). Everyone figures we need more thfs lol Our group completely whiped twice lol And I died three times (only 185 exp into my Lvl x.x). In any event, it wasn't the greatest run ever, but the best I've ever done! I think they're still in the process of inviting members. So, if anyone here 65+ (prolly wanna be close to 70+ if your a melee) and wouldl ike a Dynamis LS, just get a hold of me and I'll try to get you one The name of the LS is AncientBrotherHood. They do runs every Monday and Thursday. They get rdy at 7pm Est and head in at 8. Still kinda small so plenty of room for more members, so any job works ^^; Anywho, cya in game.

I should probably join and see how Sword + Shield is now for Dynamis since update, Also rov, you were telling me that you were passing the currency. Why?!? individual Currency is a Free for all random drop, don't pass on those cause like 1 or 2 can practically pay what you payed for the run. When a ls says to pick either AF or Currency, they mean the Big Currency, for sandy that's Silver pieces. Also are Relic weapons Anyone's lot, free for all? cause that's the way most LSs have it. oh and one more thing, Good luck on your next run and don't Die too much ;D

/shrug All I know is that they told me to put what I wanted in my search comment. I'm a newbie at this >_>; So when it was AF or Money, I assume that I got no money at all lol Besides, bunch of other people were passing, just following the crowd ^^; I'll get it straightened out next monday I guess.

You never pass OR lot on normal currency, it just drops to whoever, it sells for 40-50k a piece, the only way you get to lot on single piece currency is if you "sponsor" a run, meaning you pay the full 1m gil for the glass, and your using the curency to upgrade, in that case every single piece is yours. someone please slap Rovec for me for passing currency!!!!! XD lol. Relic wepons are very common drops, and are usually "free lot" to jobs that can use them, you see alot unfortunately. In the case a x100 currency drops, some LS let everyone lot them, and they can sell for 4-5m, yes a nice chunk or gil And from what ive seen from PLD (Neko, I think Rovec met him yesterday lol) in my dynamis LS, shield works more then before, I even seen a him tank hundred fists, he almost died but, she still tanked the hell out of it lol. Rovec do you have an earth staff?, does your LS make you tank non engaged with one?

*cries because Yosh slapped him for his newbieness* T_T
And yeah, I've got an Earth staff lol They didn't make me use it, but I figured if I'm not meleeing I don't really need the sword. (That and all the other plds were using theirs...go Peer Pressure!)

Did a Dynamis-Bastok last night. In terms of drops it was a much better run then the Sandy one. In terms of deaths, it sucked bad lol (I lost about 5k exp and I got a RII every time). One of the drops was a Melee Gaitor (MNK AF2) and there was drama along with it >.> The other drop was a 100 bill. Our LS gives it to the leader and he sells it, then the next 5-6 runs are free for everyone. We had a couple Relic GS drop too and I got myself my first bill ever ^^ (5k exp for a 50k gil bill...I'll take the 5k exp please!) @_@

Now you know why instances in WoW are 1000% better than instances in FFXI (read: Dynamis) - YOU DON'T LOSE LEVELS OR EXP WHEN YOU DIE.

xactly.. sides.. sometimes its fun to go out and die! ^^
I do it all the time.. and sometimes i drag Rovec along for the deaths and exp loss! ^^
however.. i do have to go exp before i do this First dynamis run.. seeing as how im barely lvl 69 since my run out to the Reef to get PuP. Was actually hoping to get to lvl 70 in the next two days.. meh.. we shall see ^^

i do have to go exp before i do this First dynamis run.. See, this is exactly my point. Do you realize how many people I've heard say that in my Dynamis LS? We've had majorly needed classes say that they couldn't come to runs all the time because they would "delevel". Besides that, if you haven't tried WoW, you can not say its not as "easier" as Dynamis. First off, you have no one not coming because they might delevel. Secondly, you do lose armor durability when you die, but this just costs you a little gold to repair, yet if you lose complete armor durability, the armor is useless. You can only die so many times (imagine that in Dynamis!). On top of that, and this depends on the instance, but the slower you go (as in, the more deaths people take), the more respawns you get, because some of them are on a timer. Also, if you completely wipe two or more times in the same instance, mobs near the beginning start respawning. The more you wipe, the more mobs respawn in the isntance. Wipe too many times and you'll have a full instance reset (minus the bosses), which pretty much means the group is going to break up because it would take too long to get to where you were again (if you didn't have a Priest in the group with a Soulstone, which could then rez himself, then the rest of the group). Shall I go on? In a 5-man, end-game instance, the final boss usually takes roughly 10-15 minutes to kill with a modestly geared group. Only the Dynamis Lord took longer than that when I was playing (and we didn't even kill him). The final bosses in 20+ man instances usually take upwards of 30 minutes to kill with a good group and the mini-bosses take ~15 minutes or so. The only strategy I saw in Dynamis boss killing was in Beaucedine and Xarcabard final boss pulls. EVERY SINGLE boss pull in EVERY SINGLE instance has a few set strategies to kill it and many of the bosses are highly scripted encounters, requiring certain actions at certain phases of the boss fight to win. You have none of that in Dynamis besides a few mob respawns which are triggered by other kills in the zone. All you get in Dynamis is fighting for equipment and item drops among 64 people and loss of exp and, sometimes, levels. No, tell me which one is harder?

meh.. still not going WoW anytime soon
My lvling up doesn't just involve Dynamis Chad.. im 1.5k above lvl 69 and just about anything involved with ToUA needs a small exp buffer to keep your lvl. And i still have Cor AND Blu to unlock ; ;
Dynamis is just a side effect of me pushin on to 70

Don't get my wrong, Dynamis was one of the most fun things I did end-game in FFXI. But, the implamentation of it compared to WoW instances is pretty weak, especially when you figure in the exp loss when you die. They need to just completely get rid of that. They already don't give you lost exp in ENMs, Ballista and Besieged, they should just get rid of it all together. But, then again, that would require them to come up with some other system of doing something negative to your character when you die.
In WoW when you die you spend time running back to your corpse and you lose armor durability, if you're in an instance, its what I mentioned above. They'd have to have something similar in FFXI if they got rid of exp loss altogether...
Anywho...yeah...

/shrug You might be right about the riads being better then Dynamis, but Dynamis is just one of many End game options you've got in FFXI. You've got Dynamis, HNM, Sky, CoP + RoZ missions, Limbus (which in all honesty I think is like a mini Dynamis with several paths you can take to your goal, but never done and and never really talked to anyone who has about it so close to clueless lol), and there have always been BCNM, Garrisons, etc. Now we've also got mid and end game assualts. Pretty sure there will be many more end game options after some more version updates too.
